How to use Kadapt — the 2-minute flow, and the controls underneath
Updated July 2026
To use Kadapt: add the listing basics, upload 5–10 photos, review the reel plan it drafts, and approve the credit quote — the finished vertical reel arrives about ten minutes later, ready to post. That’s roughly two minutes of your attention, and every automated choice — photo order, camera moves, script, captions, voice, music — can be overridden before you approve, or updated after the render where it doesn’t need one.
Kadapt is built so the fast path is genuinely fast — about two minutes of your attention from photos to an approved plan — and so that every automated decision can be overridden when you care. This guide covers both: the happy path first, then the deep-dive controls in the order you’ll meet them.
The happy path: photos in, reel back
- Start a project and add the listing basics. Address or title, price, beds and baths, and a few key features (“minutes from the university”, “half-acre fenced yard”). These facts ground the script — Kadapt never invents details you didn’t give it.
- Upload 5–10 listing photos. Kadapt looks at every photo — it recognises the room, judges the shot, and flags anything that would cause problems (people in frame, for example, which the video engine rejects). Then it suggests an order that walks a buyer through the home the way a showing would.
- Review the plan. Kadapt drafts the whole reel: a hook, a per-shot sequence with camera moves, on-screen captions, a voiceover script, and a music bed. You see it all before anything renders.
- Approve the quote. The exact credit cost is shown before you commit — no surprise billing. If a voiceover change pushes the cost up, Kadapt asks again rather than quietly charging more.
- Wait about ten minutes. The render takes a few minutes, then captions, voiceover and music are mixed in. You get a notification when the reel is ready to download and post — vertical 9:16, captions inside the safe zone, ready for Reels, TikTok, or Shorts.
Kadapt works from your shots and offers no sky repainting, furniture staging or day-to-dusk. It is generative AI, so the reel can still differ from your photos in places — watch it through before you publish, which is what the download check is for.
When you want control: the manual layer
Everything the automation chose is editable before you approve — and the sound, captions, stamp and script stay updatable even after the render, without re-rendering.
Photo selection and order
Drag photos into your own order, or switch to manual selection to lock the exact set and sequence — Kadapt then treats your order as a contract: nothing dropped, nothing rearranged. Use this when you know the story you want to tell (our shot-sequencing guide covers what orders work and why).
Templates and effects
Pick the template (property montage, listing teaser, just-sold) and the effect style. Under the hood every shot has two slots: a camera move (slow push, cinematic sweep, drone rise, golden-hour drift, kitchen hero…) and an arrival transition (cross-dissolve, doorway fly-through, flash cut — or a plain hard cut). The planner assigns sensible ones; the plan preview lets you change either, per shot.
Script and captions
The voiceover script and every on-screen caption are plain text — edit them in place. Kadapt keeps captions short enough to stay readable on a phone and checks copy against fair-housing rules (see the compliance guide). There’s also a style-notes box: your own render instructions (“slow and premium”, “lead with the pool”) that ride along with the plan.
Voice and music — updatable after the render, as a new take
The narrator voice and the music bed are mixed onto the video, not baked into it. On a finished reel, swap the soundtrack, fix captions, restyle the stamp, or change the script and hit Update reel: the new version lands in about a minute as a new take beside the old ones — flip between takes to compare two voices or two soundtracks side by side. One tap, a flat five credits, no re-render. If a new script runs longer than the video can hold, Kadapt says so honestly and offers a re-render sized to fit every word. Four voice personas ship today: warm & local, luxury calm, high energy, and straight facts — each with a tap-to-audition sample.
Stamps
JUST LISTED, SOLD, UNDER OFFER — kinetic overlay stamps with three looks (gold badge, rubber stamp, bold) and adjustable size. An overlay, not part of the video — adding, removing or restyling one never re-drafts your plan, and on a finished reel it’s the same flat-price update.
Takes
Not sure about a render? Generate another take of the same plan — each take is kept, so you can compare and download whichever lands best. Editing the plan and re-approving renders as its own new take too.
It learns your voice
Scripts you edit and ship become style examples for your next drafts — the more you correct it toward how you actually talk, the closer the first draft gets next time. One listing can become a month of different reels: different opening shot, different hook, different order, same photos.
What it costs to try
Sign-in is by email link. The trial includes enough credits for about three reels, and every render shows its exact credit price before you approve it. If a render fails our own quality check — say the video engine hallucinated on-screen text — the re-render is on us, not you.
Common questions
How long does Kadapt take to make a reel?
About two minutes of your attention — listing basics, photos, plan review, approve the quote — then roughly ten minutes of processing while the render, captions, voiceover and music are mixed. You get a notification when the reel is ready to download.
Does Kadapt change or edit my listing photos?
Kadapt is built for photo fidelity: the generation is instructed to keep the real furniture, finishes and lighting and never to invent rooms, and it offers no sky repainting, virtual staging or day-to-dusk. It is generative AI, so you approve the plan before it renders and watch the reel through before you publish.
Can I change the voice or music after the reel is rendered?
Yes — the voice and music are mixed onto the video, not baked into it. Swap the soundtrack, fix captions, restyle the stamp or change the script, and the new version lands as a new take beside the old ones without a re-render.
What does the Kadapt trial include?
Sign-in is by email link, and the trial includes enough credits for about three reels. Every render shows its exact credit price before you approve it, and a render that fails Kadapt’s own quality check is re-rendered at no cost to you.
